Shilin Night market
Shilin is the most famous Night market in Taipei for travellers in one stop destination in Taiwan. There’s a lot of Taiwanese cuisine you will enjoy to eat inside the market or kahit sa roadside pwede mong i-enjoy yung food while walking around the market if you prefer so. There’s a lot of tiangge store na good quality fashion ang mga tinitinda na fit for your budget.
Best time to go in Shilin
The best time to go there is around 6:00pm kasi they open about 5:30pm. Usually kasi after 12pm madaming store’s ang close kaya naman yung iba, after morning nag-re-resume sila about 4:00pm.
Top 4 things to do in Shilin Night market:
1. Play games
Inside the night market they also have some game’s katulad ng mga makikita naten sa carnival’s or perya sa pinas.
Makakapag laro ka na in worth of 100NT$ (about 173PHP) and if you win you’ll get a prize. Usually their prize’s here are Character pillow’s or stuff toy’s, big or small but still depende sa game na nilaro mo, you can still enjoy kasi nakakatuwa yung mga Taiwanese vendors, they’re so polite sa mga turista. And I suggest Dart shooting, this is the easiest game here kung magaling kang umasinta. haha try mo lang 🙂
List of the game you can play in Shilin
- Dart shooting
- Ring tossing
- Taiwanese pinball
- Fishing shrimp
Got my lovely Stitch prize in Dart Game 🙂 Si kuya napaka friendly 🙂 hahaha
2. Eat Taiwanese cuisine
Hindi naten maitatanggi na we love eating diba mga pinoy diyan :)hehe. Well let me start with this, before you enter inside the market you can see all the street food’s sa roadside kaya duon palang mag-ke-crave ka na. Many tourist prefer to try the street food’s first, kasi there are some food stall na pinipilahan talaga ng mga turista kaya ma-curious ka din.
Pero kung pang dinner ang habol mo just go to the Shilin night market Food court B1 and you will discover the underground food paradise. They serve the food very fast and nakaka amaze talaga, kasi imagine sa dami ng mga costumer’s , they can still manage for the costumer not to wait so long when it come’s to order and etc.
3. Shopping souvenirs
Who doesn’t love pasalubong? syempre everyone love’s it. You can shop outside and inside the market kasi madaming ding vendor sa labas. You can buy 6 keychain’s worth of 100NT$ (about173PHP) pero syempre minsan we want discount especially when we buy a lot, di naman mahirap kausap yung mga Taiwanese vendor they give free not only one but two, haha yes i didnt got discount but i got 2 free keychain kasi they’re too friendly haha. Pero syempre hindi lang keychains ang mabibili mo meron ding:

4. Modern Toilet Cafe
You can relax here while sitting in the lovely toilet bowl chair..Drinking beer in this type of glass was really a nice experience for us 🙂Or eating “Poo poo ice cream” na nakalagay sa weird na lalagyan and etc..
